MissionIndy.com Launches Updated Site

By , March 7, 2012

Mission Indy announced today that they have launched a complete update of the missionindy.com website.1

After much prayer and investigation, we decided to use Clover®, “We make websites for growing ministries,” as our new provider. The Mission Indy Board and Staff wanted an up-to-date, interactive, and more exciting web presence. Clover® provides that for us.

Why not jump over now? Click here or on the Mission Indy Logo in the upper right-hand column.

Virus Cleaned

By , October 10, 2010

We’ve had some reports of a virus on the Missionindy.com site. After several cleanings with McAfee (PC) and ClamXav (Mac), none of which revealed a virus, the Webmaster visually inspected the code of 15,964 files and discovered two files with code not written by the web programmers. We manually cleaned the code from the files, changed the file transfer passwords, and republished the site. That should take care of the problem.

Any of you who discover any new viruses, please email the webmaster with the details. Thanks.

Missionindy.com Gets A Makeover

As of today, the home page of missionindy.com will no longer be the place to find out “what’s new” at Mission Indy. This blog will be the spot. Here we will let you know the breaking news at Mission Indy. In addition, you may now make posts to this blog to let us know your thoughts in insights pertaining to Mission Indy.

Missionindy.com will still be the place to read the newsletters, sign up for trips, see photos, and all the other things you’re used to doing at missionindy.com.

Also, we’ve reworked the theme for missionindy.com to match this blog. We hope you enjoy the change. Let us know what you think.

The Arrival

The Arrival

In a short time we will begin using the Mission Indy Blog instead of the Mission Indy Home Page to make announcements and share what’s new with Mission Indy. For the past month we have been posting announcements on both the blog and home page.

We use Blogger to update the home page. We use WordPress to maintain the blog. We feel that using WordPress will allow us more robust forms of communication with you. Immediately, you will be able to comment on posts, which will open up more communication among our followers and staff.

In addition, we will be changing the look of missionindy.com to match what you see on the blog so we have a consistent feel across the two websites.

Have fun!

Let us know what you think.

Bot Attack

We’ve been attacked by a bot on the intern application page. Therefore, we’ve instituted a reCAPTCHA validation on that page. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we cannot tolerate being bombarded by porn and other spam. You will now need to enter two words to verify that you are a human entering the info on the intern application page.

Within the next few days we will institute reCAPTACHA on our group application page for summer trips, as it is only a matter of time until the bots get that page, too.

Site Improvements

We updated the Mission Indy Photo Gallery with the latest version of SPGM. You probably won’t notice any cosmetic differences, but the pages should load faster.

We also unhooked the menu from the top of the page. It should now move to the top of your screen and be available no matter where you are on the page.

Contact the webmaster with any comments or suggestions.
